If it's AI, we teach it.
we teach it.
Tendril is a free online AI university — for kids, teens, college students, and working adults. 1,700+ lessons. 35 model families indexed. 100+ careers mapped to the AI tools they actually use. No paywall, no waitlist, no $2,000 cohort. Here's what it is, why it exists, and the five-minute test that tells you if it's for you.

AI is moving faster than most people know what to do with. That's the part everyone keeps skipping.
The problem isn't that people haven't heard of AI. The problem is that most people still have no real structure for learning it, testing it, and using it for the work they already do every day.
That's why I built Tendril.

A free online AI university. Real lessons. Real models. Real tools. Free for every learner.
— THE TENDRIL PROMISE, IN ONE BREATH
There's no structure
§ 01 — THE GAPWalk into any room and ask people how they're learning AI.
You'll hear the same three answers.
"I watch YouTube videos." "I follow some people on LinkedIn." "I mess around with ChatGPT sometimes."
That's not a curriculum. That's a hobby.
It's also the reason most teams are still stuck at "we use AI" without being able to point at a single workflow that got materially better because of it.
Meanwhile the tech is compounding weekly. New models. New tools. Whole new categories — agents, MCP, computer use, structured outputs, real-time voice.
If your only learning loop is "I'll figure it out when it comes up," you're already behind. And the gap is widening.
Kids feel this even more sharply. They're growing up in an AI-first world, and the school system hasn't caught up. Half the conversations I hear from parents are some version of "I don't know whether to let them use it or not."
That's not a policy choice. That's a literacy problem.
The library is organized two ways.
§ 02 — STRUCTUREExplorers, Builders, Creators.
Same library, age-appropriate framing. Explorers (8–10) learn what a model is. Builders (11–13) learn how to talk to one without getting tricked. Creators (14–17) ship real projects. Then College+ and Career+.
Beginner → Professional.
Pick the shelf that matches the work you do. Vibe Coder. Coder. Designer. Marketer. Operations. Researcher. Each track has its own progression — no generic "intro to AI" detour required.
The model directory.
35 model families. 161 variants. Side-by-side compare for context windows, pricing, and capabilities. Not a marketing roundup — a working reference for the question "which model should I actually pick?"

Every lesson is short. Practical. Tied to something you can run.
Not a 90-minute lecture about transformer architecture.
A 28-minute walkthrough of why agents fail and how to notice. A 30-minute breakdown of the four ingredients of any agent: goal, tools, loop, stop. A 10-minute guide to brand voice — sounding like you on purpose.
Read. Do. Reflect. Move on.
Eighteen subject tracks, one library.
§ 03 — WHAT YOU CAN STUDYAI Foundations
What AI is, how it learns, what it can and can't do.
Prompting
First prompts to advanced patterns. The most practical skill.
AI-Assisted Coding
Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, Windsurf. Real code with real agents.
Agentic AI
Agents that do things — MCP, tool use, multi-model orchestration.
Ethics & Society
Bias, copyright, labor — the questions that decide how AI lands.
Careers & Pathways
100+ jobs mapped to the AI tools that transform them.
Tools Literacy
Product surfaces of OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, open-weight.
Creative AI
Image, video, audio. Brand-consistent generation pipelines.
AI for Business
Campaigns, brand voice, audience research, customer insights.
Operations & Automation
Workflows, internal tools, the back-office AI stack.
Research & Analysis
Literature review, citation discipline, teaching AI not to make things up.
Safety & Governance
Production guardrails. Trust, cost controls, user-facing risk.
Every model in the industry, explained.
§ 04 — THE REFERENCEHere's something that kept bugging me personally.
There is no single place that just tells you what every model actually is, what it's good at, and what it costs.
So Tendril has one. 35 families. 161 variants. Each one written like a working reference, not a press release.
Pick up to four. Drop them on a battle card. Decide based on actual numbers.
If you've ever sat in a meeting and watched someone confidently say "we should use [model]" with zero basis for the choice — this is for them.

Your future job uses AI.

TRANSFORMING
Why this matters for the channel.
§ 06 — THE CHANNELFor partners, integrators, and resellers — customers are tired of vendors saying "we use AI."
What they need is someone who can help them understand where AI fits, where it doesn't, and how to start using it without turning the whole thing into a science project.
That's the opportunity:
- Daily lessons that teach one useful AI concept at a time.
- Practical examples for marketing, sales, ops, CX, and automation.
- Simple education partners can use to start better customer conversations.
- A way to turn AI from a buzzword into an actual enablement motion.
But this is not just a channel play.
§ 07 — THE NEXT GENERATIONThe next generation is going to grow up in an AI-first world.
They're not going to need a vague intro to AI. They're going to need real literacy.
They need to know how to use these tools, how to think with them, how to question them, and how to build with them.
That starts with structure.
Tendril is my attempt to help people get the reps in now — whether they're in the channel, in a classroom, in a library, starting a career, or just trying to keep up with the tech that's already changing their job.
So get your kids learning, too. Age-appropriate tiers starting at 8. COPPA Safe Harbor. WCAG 2.2 AA. Free for schools. Free for libraries. Free for every learner.
It's a work in progress.
§ 08 — STATUSThe bones are there.
1,700+ lessons. 35 model families. 100+ careers. A working sandbox. Side-by-side compare.
I'm tightening the UX/UI now, and shipping new lessons every week.
AI is not slowing down.
So the learning cannot either.
Pick one shelf. Run one lesson.
That's the whole ask. No signup. No credit card. Free.
If you walk away with one thing you can use Monday morning — that's the entire point. If something is broken or missing, tell me. I read every reply.
